Background of College of Asian Scholars (CAS)
With the initiative and aspdiration of Prof. Dr.krasae Chanawongse, a recipient
of the Ramon Magsayay awardforcommunity Leadership in 1973
adn a former Ministerof the Prime Minister,s Fffice ZaLicensee),
toprovide an educational opportunity and create optional in higher
education for northeastern youth, College of Asian Scholars (CAS)
was established under the Ministry of University Affair according to
the Private Higher Education Institute Act in 2522 B.E. revision in
2535 B.E. The Commission on Private Higher Education Institute
agreed to establish CAS and passed their resolution to His Excellence Mr.Prachoub Chiyasan, who is a Minister of University
Affair during that period, to Licennse the college establishment in
accordance with Official Announcemment No.3/3542 issued 26
CAS board of the trustees agreed at the fist meeting on 15th March 1999 to move the college
from Phon District torelocate at 179/137 Prachasmosorn RD., Nai Muang Subdistrict,
Muang district,Khon kaen City approvl by the Ministry of University Affair which was given
on 11th April 2001.
CAS opened at the beginning of Academic year 2002 with the study
of the Bachelor level in the Faculty of Business Administration with business computer,
general management, accountin and interaational business management departments.
In the Academic Year 2003, two new faculty of Liberal Arts and Faculty of Law, were opened likewise
departemnt of marketing in the Faculty of Business Administration.
In the Academic Year 2006, CAS signed a cooperation contract with Tokusokai
Medical cororation Group in Japan to Produce qualitatve efficiency nurses.Therefore the Faculty of Nursing was opened with openned with four-years program in nursing and
